Homemade granola sweetened with JUST banana ... no extra sweeteners

I've been searching for "no sugar" granola recipes, the kind sweetened with just fruit.  Everything I found had bananas plus maple syrup or honey.  I finally found this one recipe that just used bananas. It turned out great! I did add Quinoa in there and used 3 bananas instead of 2, so yummy.

I don't understand why all these so-called healthy cereals have so much extra stuff in them.  Just look at the back of the Kashi "Go Lean" Honey Almond Flax:

Why does Cascadian Farms granola have to have sugar and molasses in it? Not to mention that this stuff is expensive.  I really don't care if it's certified organic, I don't want all that sugar.  If I can make a healthier alternative that tastes good and saves money, then I'll do it!

Why would you want all those ingredients when you can have just six?

You can view the recipe here.  It's super easy and takes very little prep time.  The hardest part is waiting for it to come out of the oven! I used my magic bullet to puree the bananas.  I highly recommend getting one if you don't have one already, they make blending really easy and you don't have to worry about washing out your big blender.

    1. Hey Allison! No we do a plant-based, whole foods diet really without meat or dairy :) Tons of fruit and veggies, nuts, seeds, good whole grains, beans etc. I really like it and really have no cravings for meat or dairy at all but sometimes we will eat meat/dairy.

    1. Yes, please! Tell me what you think! The hubby and I thought it was great. One improvement though, if you use 3 bananas then add an extra cup of rolled oats!
